Not Happy Holidays :-(‏

Happy Holidays!

I was rushing out of my local shopping mall when an employee dressed as an elf with a great big smile said, "Happy Holidays!"

While her smile brightened up my day like sunshine melting snow...

Her sincerity was so unexpected that I stumbled and somewhat inappropriately replied, "Thank you!"

Fortunately, my friend wasn't as "stunned" as I was. She turned to the smiling elf with a chuckle and said. "No, no no!"

"No, No, No... It's Not 'Happy Holidays'... It's A Merry Christmas!"

Now (gosh!) I don't know if it's politically correct to wish anybody a Merry Christmas these days, a Merry X-mas, or simply Happy Holidays...

But I thought I would wish you a happy holiday season...

Or a very pleasant weekend at the very least...

I hope you don't work too hard (or at all) this weekend...

Because we have sooo little time these days to spend with our friends and family... and the thing that really matters... when the countless stars are twinkling in the midnight sky isn't how hard you work but...

How much you show people you care...

I hope you'll reach out and smile at someone this weekend...

Maybe even wish a confused stranger a merry... well... a merry weekend...

And spend some quality time with your loved ones...
